What about that ugly %20 in my URL?

I know most of us have encountered this at one time or another while working in a SharePoint environment. It mostly happens when creating Lists and/or Libraries in SharePoint. The dreaded %20 which most Content Management systems use to fill a space between words in the title of a particular object. Luckily there is a quick fix. Next time you are creating a list or a library that contains spaces in the title simply type the name as you would like it to appear in the actual URL, without spaces. Next specify the rest of the options as you usually would (i.e. display in Quick Launch, and Library type) and click Create. Now that you have created your list/library the URL appears clean (without %20) as expected. But what about the Title place holder? I only wanted my URL to appear without spaces, not my list/library Title. Simply navigate to list/library Settings, and under General Settings click on "Title, description and navigation". Change your Title to include spaces.
